5 Minute Makeup for Busy Women
All you will need for this quick and easy 5 minute makeup are five products. They don’t have to be the same brand as the products used below, but you will need the same type of product (because these are products made to be fast and simple to use).
Start off by using the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, or Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream is another great performing option that is a little more economical. These types of products are less coverage, but they are lighter on the skin so you can just apply them with your hands if you don’t have a brush or sponge handy. The CC stands for “Color Correcting” so they are multi purpose primer, foundation, concealer and spf in one! So they’re extremely “5 minute makeup” friendly.
Set this with a light layer of the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish. I know MAC is a luxury product, but bareMinerals Mineral Veil powder is another beautiful option with similar quality at a better price. This will create a hint of coverage and even out the skin even more, while setting your foundation layer and preventing shininess throughout your day.
Comb through your brows with the Essence Make Me Brow. This is tinted, so it will give your brows fullness even if they are sparse (like mine). If you have full brows (jealous!), then you need control rather than color to set them in place. My friend with bushy brows swears by the Clear Brow Gel from ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS. She says it’s like brow super glue. This will help frame your eyes, even though you aren’t using any eyeshadow or pencilling them in.
Coat your eyelashes with mascara. I love the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. Use a few coats for a slightly more intense look, or just throw one coat on the top to really open up your eyes and make you look more awake. If you simply must curl your lashes, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara will definitely save you that step. It’s a total show stopper and the bottle lasts easily 6 months. For those early mornings where you are running out the door with kids, or trying to get to an important meeting, or late for class, mascara is a lifesaver!
Finish off with your favorite lightly tinted lip balm. I’m can’t lie, my favorite is a total splurge: Christian Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm. But I can’t help myself, I freaking love this stuff! If you want a more reasonable item, I also like the Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Balm. I find that these are easy to reapply throughout the day, they make your lips look more plump and youthful, and having a lip product on with a slight tint to it completes you 5 minute makeup look.
And voila! You are ready to head out the door in a matter of minutes, looking fresh and ready to take on the day. Just to recap, these are the items you need to pull off the look:
- IT Cosmetics CC+ Illumination Cream (It has an SPF 50 and radiant properties to it, so it really makes your skin glow!)
- MAC Mineralize SkinFinish (Gorgeous finish, it gives you a hint more coverage and a nice sheen, not just a flat powder finish)
- Essence Make Me Brow (A great dupe of Benefit’s Gimme Brow)
- L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara (One of the best mascaras at the drugstore)
- Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm (Splurge item for sure. But, it moisturizes and plumps your lips while giving them a soft, pink finish)
